神藤毛巾中的中心層採用傳統的20支、3層紗布，並用1/2重量的編織代替，亦採用不規則編織來製作獨柔軟的質地，因此2.5層紗布毛巾更輕、更柔軟、快乾，但仍具有高吸水性。手巾版本共有四個顏色，神藤毛巾細心地利用略為改變經紗和緯紗的染料來創造自然的顏色深度。

Description

Neither 2- nor 3-ply. Woven layers designed for comfort.

We took the middle layer of the traditional 20-count 3-ply gauze and replaced it with a 1/2-weight weave. We also utilize an irregular weave to produce a unique, exquisitely soft texture. Lighter, softer and quick to dry, yet still highly absorbent, the 2.5-ply gauze towel comes in slightly larger Medium and Large sizes, plus a longer scarf type. We created a natural depth in colour by slightly varying the dye for the warp and weft.

To do that, we must utilize fully our historical knowledge and technical expertise, and be unafraid of new ideas in technology and design. We are always reviewing materials, function, and design in the pursuit of better products.

Superior absorbency, luxurious softness and the feeling of fresh, new ‘clean’ – thanks to the 後晒し process.

A characteristic of the Senshu Towel is 後晒し – a post-weave refining process. Towels are traditionally woven with starched fibres, as this increases durability, but the starch can repel water and thus affects absorbency. By washing and bleaching after weaving, the starch, oils, and other impurities in the fibre can be removed, allowing better absorbency while preserving its fluffy texture.
